The Ice Queen of Hearts
A great, fun card trick that you can try out on any friend or family member who likes ICE CREAM. There are plenty of ice cream lovers out there. If you’re one of them here is an is Easy Strawberry Ice Cream Recipe!
The Card Trick With An Ice Cream Theme
To set up the deck for this ‘delicious’ ice cream themed card trick, get together a stack of twelve very different cards making sure that one of the cards is the Queen of Hearts. This Queen must be positioned face down on top of the other mixed face down cards.
How is this card trick done?
First, ask for a female spectator to help you with the trick. Show her and your audience that all the cards are different by turning the stack of 12 cards face up and spreading the cards in your hands. Note: Be careful to conceal the Queen of Hearts at the base of the stack.
Next, ask your chosen participant what her favourite ice cream flavour is. (It’s important that the flavour that she gives has between 6 and 12 letters in it – eg. vanilla or chocolate or pistachio, etc).
Whilst you are talking to her, shuffle the cards face up so she can see they are being thoroughly mixed but at the same time, make sure you leave the Queen of Hearts in place. You can see how to perform this false shuffle here.
Now turn the stack face down (Queen is now on top) and proceed as follows. Shuffle the Queen off the top (pull off with left thumb) and shuffle cards onto it so it is now the bottom card of the face down stack as you tell the lady you will give her 3 scoops of her favourite flavoured ice cream along with 3 toppings – one for each scoop.
Next ‘spell’ out her favourite flavour by dealing the cards into a pile in front of her so for example if she chooses vanilla, you will deal 7 cards one on top of the other then you stop, telling her that is the first scoop. Next, ask her to name a topping (eg. nuts, chocolate sauce, sprinkles, etc) then throw the remaining cards on top of the pile just dealt and say “and that is your chosen topping”.
Perform this process twice more for the 2 other scoops and toppings. Then, gathering up the cards, say: “You’re very kind for helping me with this trick. I’d like to nominate a card to represent your contribution. It has to be a Queen … and … as you had your heart set on the flavour you chose, it has to be the Queen of Hearts. After saying this, invite the lady to carefully turn over the top card of the stack – it is the Queen of Hearts!

How To Make 3 Ingredient Strawberry Ice Cream
Ingredients:
1lb (450g / 16oz) fresh strawberries (washed, hulled, stalks removed)
1/4 pint (1/2 cup / 125ml) condensed milk
1/4 pint (1/2 cup / 125ml) double (heavy) cream
Method:
Chop the washed, hulled strawberries into small pieces and mash them into a puree. You can do this by hand with a fork or use a food processor to blend them. Place the puree in the refrigerator to chill.
Pour the condensed milk and cream into a saucepan. Heat gently and stir until the mix starts to bubble. Then take the pan off the heat and put to one side in order to cool.
Once cool, pour the milk/cream into the mashed strawberries. This is your ice cream base. Note: If time allows, put the mix into the refrigerator to chill further. A really chilled mix makes for better ice cream.
Pour the mix into an ice cream machine and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
