Take blackjack for instance, beloved by generations of casino goers, remains the most popular casino game worldwide.  Its first historical mention was within a story about two young con artists playing a game called ‘’veintiuna’’ also referred to as ‘twenty-one’. This was recorded as a short story set in Seville, published around 1601 through the works of Miguel de Cervantes. It wasn’t long before the game spread across Europe, and founds its way in the saloons of North America in the late 19th century. The game was commonly known to be played with a shortened deck with no sevens or eights and players aimed to make 21 with as few cards as possible.
